Believed to be an embodiment of the Sixth Dalai Lama, there are less than 10,000 that survive on the roof of the world. In the scenic Phobjikha Valley of Bhutan, the natives eagerly await their return each winter. Monks of the local monastery pray for their safe journey and legend has it that they circle the monastery three times upon arrival. They feature in ancient Buddhist paintings of longevity and their mysticism is comparable to that of Dragons and Eagles.
